Whether you’re staying local or hoping to make Liverpool your home away from home, you won’t want to miss the biggest student social event of the year – Freshers 2017.

From wild club nights hosted by celebrities to ice-breaker comedy evenings, Liverpool Freshers Week 2017 is guaranteed to be talked about until your graduation.

With 4 different universities, all with differing Freshers week times and events, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

So, to make it easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of the very best nightlife Liverpool has got to offer over the Freshers week period.

Saturday 16th September

The Sesh: Moving in Party

Where: Hangar 34, Baltic Triangle

One of Liverpool’s most famous party warehouses, Hangar 34 in the Baltic Triangle is one of the best places to kick start your Freshers week.

They are hosting a party like no other, kicking off your student year with one almighty ‘sesh’.

Featuring insane visuals, house party bangers and over 1000 students, this epic night out will give you the first taste of Liverpool nightlife.

Infinity

Where: Empire, Seel Street

If house music is more your deal, check out Empire’s fantastic Infinity night.

Set on Empire’s top two floors, the line up for this huge night includes Ryan Mc, Denny Dowd, John Ross Junior and Brother Beats, with Karl McCabe providing live sax.

Empire has carved out its place as one of the most exciting nightclubs in the UK and this night is sure to be one of the best places to kick start your new life as a student.

Liverpool Comedy Club

Where: Camp and Furnace, Baltic Triangle

The new home of the Liverpool Comedy Club, Camp and Furnace are bringing the cream of the international comedy circuit to Liverpool for one of the funniest nights you’ll ever have.

Described by the Echo as ‘one of Liverpool’s must visit spaces’ and a jewel in the Baltic’s crown, this venue is the perfect base for a fabulous night of fun and frivolity during Freshers 2017.

Expect lots of laughs from acts such as Jamie Sutherland and Micky P Kerr, as you enjoy a night of live stand-up, perfect for breaking the ice.

Sunday 17th September

Liverpool Freshers Moving In Party

Where: Krazyhouse, Wood Street

Krazyhouse are throwing an epic moving in party featuring 3000 students, cheap drinks, insane sound systems, and DJs playing the best house, bass chart, hip hop, grime and RnB music.

Celebrate your first weekend as a student, make more friends and dance until the early hours at one of Liverpool’s most popular student venues.

Krazyhouse is renowned for its eclectic range of music, set over three floors, this club is a rite of passage for any first year.

Basshunter

Where: Level, Fleet Street

Join thousands of other students at one of the highlights of the Freshers period this year. Basshunter is coming to Liverpool to play a one off show at the famous Level nightclub.

The Swedish star will be gracing the stage at Level for a jam packed evening of eurodance and, of course, lots of big basslines.

Monday 18th September

Craig Charles Funk and Soul

Where: Mountford Hall, Courtyard

Prepare for an electric night of pure funk and soul with legendary DJ and former Corrie and Red Dwarf star, Craig Charles.

Between acting roles, Craig is best known for his Djing skills and regular show on BBC 6 music, plus his multiple festival appearances including Love Box, Park Life, Festival no 6, and recently played to over 10,000 people at Glastonbury on the world famous Arcadia and Shangri-La stage.

His nights usually sell out within days with prices in excess of £17 each, however this special student night is just £6 and promises to be one of the most unique you’ll find.

Freshers Initiation

Where: Krazyhouse, Wood Street

Voted the number one freshers week event for six years running, the Freshers initiation is an unforgettable and legendary night.

Packed with fun games and challenges, expect initiation games, fire breathers and dancers, podium dancers, stilt walkers, supersized laser firing glowbots, sumo wrestlers, thousands of UV glow sticks and rave batons, confetti showers and inflatables.

You’ll also have the chance to ride the bucking rodeo bull, get some snaps in the photo booth and have access to exclusive student drinks prices.

Tickets are expected to sell out fast, so it’s best to get in there quick.

Freshers House Party

Where: Level, Fleet Street

Spinning the best hip hop, trap, commercial, house and garage all night, this legendary freshers week house party is one of a kind.

Ever wanted to experience a house party just like the one from Prject X? Look no further, this unreal event will feature a rodeo bull, red cups, free dominos pizza, celebrity facemasks including Stormzy and Kanye, explosive confetti cannons, giant connect four and jenga, beer pong and much more.

This mad party will be full of wacky surprises, state of the art sound and light systems and of course, super cheap drinks.

Tuesday 19th September

Wah w/darkzy

Where: 24 Kitchen Street

Back in Liverpool for a Freshers special, Wah presents an evening packed with bass, bassline and BASS.

Joining them on the night will be the hottest name in the genre, Darkzy and local support from Long-E and M62 Records.

24 Kitchen Street is one of the coolest venues in the Baltic Triangle, it’s a must visit for any students exploring Liverpool’s nightlife.

Lock in Zoo Party With Gaz From Geordie Shore

Where: Concert Square

This massive lock in party is set to take over the entirety of Concert Square for a night of great music, a party atmosphere and cheap drinks.

Hosted by Gary Beadle, Gaz from Georgie Shore and Ex on the Beach, Concert Square will be fenced off for over 3000 students to go wild in zoo themed fancy dress.

Expect free food stalls, free animal face painting and free graffiti paint to cover the cage walls in. It promises to be one of the wildest nights on the circuit.

Lost: Freshers Festival

Where: Camp and Furnace, Baltic Triangle

Yep you read that right, Camp and Furnace are hosting an entire festival to celebrate Freshers week this year, organised by Lost.

Expect a night of insane production, visuals and Lost’s trademark sound of house, tech and disco grooves.

So, get your best festival fashion outfits together and party like you’re at Glastonbury.

International Student Social

Where: Mulholland, Seel Street

This event is for all internationals in Liverpool, a place to meet, eat, drink and speak to new people at one of Liverpool’s newest bars, Mulholland.

Liverpool has such a fantastic international community, and this fantastic event will offer a friendly and relaxed environment for students from all around the world to meet and make friends.

The evening will include snacks, drinks offers, activities and ice breakers, international music and the chance to practice your English. 

Russell Kane

Where: Liverpool Guild of Students, Mountford Hall

Award winning funny man, Russell Kane, is gracing the stage of Liverpool University’s Guild of Students to deliver an evening of side spitting stand up.

You’re sure to have a night filled with laughter as Kane is supported by none other than Kelly Convey and Elliot Steel.

Tickets are expected to sell out very fast, so don’t delay in booking.

F*ck Me it’s Freshers

Where: Krazyhouse, Wood Street

Not just any ordinary freshers event, this amazing party is a once in a lifetime experience and a must for all new students in Liverpool.

A company that tours the UK, bringing their wild and action packed nights to cities every year, these crazy nights have become famous in the student world.

Expect massive foam cannons, giant bouncy castles, bucking rodeos, super powered confetti cannons, ball pits, fire breathers and loads of neon. You’ll have access to free UV face painting giant sized games and a soundtrack of club classics, grime. hip hop, house and RnB.

Wednesday 20th September

Psychedelic Disco

Take a psychedelic journey to the famous 24 Kitchen Street for a freshers week night with a difference.

This unique evening is a change from the normal club circuit, with an explosion of colour, art and vibe that is sure to get you feeling wavy.

Freshers Foam Party

Where: Walkabout, Fleet Street

Grab your googles, swimwear, armbands and waterproof makeup for this wet and wild night filled with lots and lots of foam.

Join thousands of other freshers and create unforgettable memories as you start life as a student in Liverpool.

The foam cannon is taken straight from Ibiza, so you’ll be partying like kings and queens.

Thursday 21st September

Shit Hip Hop Party and Shit Indie Disco – Freshers Specials

Where: Arts Club, Seel Street

Thursday’s mean only one thing in Liverpool, shit indie disco.

After a long summer of touring festivals, the guys behind shit Thursdays are back at the Arts Club, but this time they’ve added a new room to the mix. Alongside the normal indie disco, they’ll be putting on a shit hip hop party on the same night.

The indie room will offer you an Arctic Monkeys special because everyone loves Alex Turner, plus a brilliant selection of alternative bangers such as The Strokes, Bloc Party Oasis and Tame Impala.

Whilst the hip hop room will be all about Kanye, with a selection of old school, 90’s and 00’s hip hop and R&B hits that will have you wanting more well into Friday morning.

Friday 22nd September

Hot Plate Presents Chip

Where: 24 Kitchen Street

Liverpool events company Hot Plate is bringing the UK grime and rap legend, Chipmunk to Kitchen Street for a one-off gig to celebrate the start of a new University year.

Set to be an unforgettable evening of classics, Chip is sure to put on a belter of a show.

Med’s Messed up Festival

Where: Arts Club, Seel Street

Medication is back for another year of student frivolities.

Celebrate freshers in epic festival style at Med’s Messed up Festival and start term as you mean to go on.

With three rooms of music, inflatables, confetti, co2, crazy drink offers and famous Med madness, this legendary night is a must on the student circuit.

Hashtag Presents Matt Willis

Where: Level, Fleet Street

British singer-songwriter best known for being a member of Busted is coming to Liverpool to DJ for an exclusive one off night.

Taking place in Level, this night will see the star play some of the biggest hits and maybe a few Busted tunes.

We can’t wait for this one!

Saturday 23rd September

Fiesta Bombarda Constellations Carnival

Where: Constellations, Baltic Triangle

Fiesta’s comeback carnival sees the collective transform Constellations with immersive intergalactic decor alongside some out of this world musical talent.

One of the most unique events during Freshers 2017, this event will see Constellations transformed into two stages that will host acts such as Toddla T, The Mouse Outfit, Top Cat and many more.

Expect a neon nebula with UV canons, neon face paints, immersive set designs and interactive stalls.

Sunday 24th September

S Club 3 Live

Where: Walkabout, Fleet Street

There ain’t no party like an S Club party!

Relive those childhood memories with one of the best bands from the 90’s, as they take to the stage and perform live at Walkabout.

There may only be three of them, but this show promises to be the ultimate retro party with some true pop legends.

Bongo’s Bingos

Where: Liverpool Guild of Students, Mountford Hall

Sold out everywhere until Christmas, the ever popular Bongo’s Bingo is coming to the Guild for a special Welcome Week appearance for all University of Liverpool students – whether you’re in your first or final year.

It’s bingo like you’ve never known it before. Get ready for eyes down and a night of impromptu raves, dance offs, hands in the air anthem singing and prizes so bad they’re good.

Without a doubt the craziest game of bingo you’ll ever play.

Monday 25th September

Block Party

Where: Brooklyn Mixer, Seel Street

One of Liverpool’s biggest Monday nights, the infamous Block Party returns to the Brooklyn Mixer for an evening of the best hip hop, RnB and Urban music across three floors and graffiti terrace.

Renowned for the great drinks prices and offers, Brooklyn Mixer is a favourite with students across the city.

Tuesday 26th September

JUICY

Where: The Shipping Forecast, Slater Street

Undoubtedly one of the best student nights around, Juicy is finally back, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Returning to its old home at the Shipping Forecast, this RnB filled delight is the only place to be on a Tuesday.

A night packed with the sounds of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, Prince, Kanye and loads more, get your tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Thursday 28th September

Love Island’s Alex Beattie

With the wave of Love Island mania sweeping the country once again, Heaven nightclub welcomes hottie Alex Beattie to party with them.

Having recently split with Montana, Alex is single and ready to mingle.

There are VIP tickets available that get lucky owners a meet and greet with the hunk himself.

Friday 29th September

Guilty Pleasures

The unashamedly glorious, all-singing, all-dancing declaration of love for pop music is back at Camp and Furnace.

A night where you can ditch the guilt and focus on the good, as you revel in the pleasure of being part of something truly fabulous.

Described as one of the best parties ever, this sequin clad affair is sure to have you up and dancing on the tables.

Blazin Squad Live

Where: Circo, Seel Street

The noughties boy band sensation are officially coming to Liverpool to perform some of their classic hits, such as Crossroads, for one night only!

Circo is one of the best clubs in Liverpool, so this night is sure to be a belter.

This event is expected to sell out, so don’t delay getting your tickets.

Saturday 30th September

303 Presents Dave Clarke at the Tunnels

Liverpool clubnight 303 have been rapidly marking themselves out as one of the best parties in the UK, their techno pedigree assured with a raft of heavy hitters, including Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan, Robert Hood & Andrew Weatherall is quickly making them a household name with partiers.

Arguably one of the most important figures in British techno history, Dave Clarke is coming to Liverpool for an extended three hour set in the amazing Williamson Tunnels.

He’s released a slew of timeless classics over the years, such as ‘The Compass’, The Red Series and his epochal remix of Midfield General’s ‘Coat Noise’, while remaining anarchistic in his approach to norms within the genre.

With his uncompromising attitude, he continues to hold his own as one of the most influential and unrelenting artists in dance music.

Sunday 1st October

Student Fest Full Moon with Chris Hughes, Jamie Laing & Aaron Chalmers

Where: Concert Square

One of  Liverpool’s biggest annual student events, Battle of the Uni’s is back.

Over 5000 students over 7 different venues will battle it out to see which University is the best.

With guest stars Chris Hughes from Love Island representing Liverpool John Moores, Jamie Laign from Made in Chelsea flying the flag for the University of Liverpool and Geordie Shore’s Aaron Chalmers standing for Hope Uni.

It’s the ultimate end to the freshers 2017 season.
