Opened in 2018 and the perfect place for meat lovers, Grilla is a Greek taverna like no other. Since opening last year, the fabulous venue serves up a fresh and extensive menu, cooked on real charcoal.
Their speciality, however, is their traditional pita gyros. This gigantic Greek dish includes a whole range of ingredients including onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheese and succulent chunks of chicken wrapped in a pita bread laden with fries.

Seating 74 people over two floors – including a gorgeous outside area for those rare sunny days, Maray is a perfect neighbourhood spot for a Sunday roast and a few cocktails.

What was once the Smooze, this recently re-branded bar is quirky, fun, dog-friendly and welcoming. Featuring a heavy pop-art interior and cosy bucket seats, The Dog House is one of the best bars in Liverpool.
Make sure you pop in on a Thursday or Sunday when bands such as ‘Just for the Record’ and ‘Duke Box Durie’ take to the stage – or floor, depending on how you see their performance area.
Indeed, The Dog House is not only a favourite amongst local residents, but it’s also one of our favourite bars on Allerton Road.

Tucked away down Penny Lane, this grandiose pub serves delicious food and a good pint – which is the most important thing, of course. What’s more, rumours suggest that Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, stayed here while in Liverpool.
Featuring a largely wooden interior and stunning mosaic floor, The Dovey is a loveable relic of times gone by that people, young and old, can enjoy today.
