Creamfields: Who’s On, What’s New, Where It Is & What To Take

Returning to Daresbury Park for 2018 is the largest electrical dance music festival in the UK and Liverpool’s favourite event in the music festival calendar. Welcome back Creamfields.

If you’ve been before we’ve got recommendations on some of the featuring artists in the star-studded line-up, or if this is your first time we can tell you how to get there and give a few helpful tips on some packing essentials.

Where is Creamfields?

This year the annual dance music festival will be returning to Daresbury park filling the picturesque Cheshire countryside with the sound of pumping dance music.

Getting to Creamfields is simple whether you choose to GoCarShare with a few festival friends, hop on one of the many Creamfields Shuttle Buses coming in from major cities all over the UK or include a ride on the Big Green Coach as part of your ticket purchase.

Looking after the environment is important to festival organisers so do what you can to help Creamfields reduce its carbon footprint.

Since 2006, when Creamfields got too big for Speke Airfield to handle, Daresbury has been the happy home to many a raver and has welcomed some legendary artists onto the stages such as Kasabian, Fatboy Slim and the late great Avicii.

Now in its 21st year, Creamfields 2018 is ready to blow the socks off over 70,000 dance loving individuals, bringing back some well-known favourites to the line-up and intorducing a new and exciting stage layout.

Must-See Artists at Creamfields 2018

With such a mindblowing line-up it might be difficult to navigate your way around all your favourites and any new talent you want to check out.

The four-day festival does what it can to spread the talent out as evenly as possible but it’s inevitable that two of your must-sees will be hitting the decks at the same time.

We’ve taken it upon ourselves to select some of the unmissable acts from this year’s exciting line-up at Creamfields 2018.

Thursday

Kideko and George Kwali will be warming up crowds on Thursday in Cream bringing booty shaking tunes like Crank It and All On Me that’ll have you dancing all night long.

For banging bass lines and floor filling fun times make your way to Sexy By Nature to check out the superb sounds of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, whose set will certainly get you in the mood for a long weekend of non-stop dancing.

Friday

Bringing the Creamfields crowds a sensational line-up with something for everyone, Friday’s sets will be led by superstar DJ’s like Hannah Wants, who broke onto the house music scene in 2014 with her unique garage influenced style.

She will be whipping out her wicked work on the Sub_Aural stage on Friday.

Or the chart-topping Chainsmokers whose tunes have become a part of EDM lovers daily playlists with their collaborations with stars like the iconic Coldplay, Tiësto and who could forget that hit club tune #SEFLIE.

Carl Cox Creamfields 2018

No Cream related event would be complete without an appearance from the legendary Carl Cox who has been entertaining the music-loving masses since the 80s. An original founder of house music revolution and a DJ and producer who has more than likely influenced every artist at Creamfields in one way or another, Coxy is a must see this year at Creamfields 2018.

Saturday

The Arc Stage line-up for Saturday would be difficult to walk away from as its full of some of the biggest banging tune makers ever.

If we could make just one suggestion it would be to stick around for Timmy Trumpet’s set and finish off the night with Axwell and Ingrosso.

Timmy Trumpet brings something different to the realms of EDM with his undeniable ability to mix jazz with the bassiest dance beats known to man.

Axwell and Ingrosso, two members of Swedish House Mafia will have crowds reaching for the lasers with their speaker smashing set of uplifting floor fillers.

Other sensational Saturday spinners include Laidback Luke and Benny Benassi in the Pepsi Max Arena as well as Loco Dice in the Steel Yards.

We’re not gonna lie though the Saturday line-up is a tough one to navigate choose wisely Creamfielders!

Sunday

Duke Dumont is a British DJ superstar, songwriter and producer who has filled dance clubs and arenas with his original work since 2012. He’s toured the world and makes regular appearances in the biggest clubs in Ibiza and will be rocking the brand new Generator stage at Creamfields in 2018.

Another artist who likes to do things a little differently, Kölsch blends booming bass lines with the sounds of Reggae and techno making his music incredibly easy to dance and listen too. He will be coming to the epic venue, Steel Yards pairing his set with the latest visual technological displays.

Someone you might not have expected to see behind the decks at Creamfields 2018 is Idris Elba.

A well-known actor, talented musician, music producer and DJ, Big Driis will be wowing his audiences with sets compiled of soul, hip-hop and potentially a mix-up of the James Bond theme tune worked into what is to be an unforgettable set.

Packing Essentials

Whether you are visiting Creamfields 2018 for the day or for the entire weekend there are certain must-have items that will see you through the weekend.

Comfy Footwear

It’s no easy feat trying to dance in high heels or floppy flip flops so no matter what the weather, be prepared and opt for comfort. We want to see your very best dance moves at Creamfields 2018.

Wipes/Anti-bac

Self-explanatory really but as you are partying on a huge field the likely hood is you’ll get a bit mucky wipes and a good anti-bac gel are a clean person choice

Glitter

Male or female, boys and girls of all ages, if you haven’t got a face full of glitter you’ll stand out in a crowd at Creamfields 2018 so fill your face with as much sparkle as humanly possible

Cash

Even though some places might do contactless, like the bars and bigger food outlets, having cash on you is always wise and the cues for cash machines can be longer than the ones for the loos or bars.

As much as we’d love it to be sunny for the entire weekend we are in England so best to be safe and always expect rain. If you don’t wanna walk round wearing a plastic bag poncho pack a light stylish raincoat of your own.

Although no amount of rain will dampen your spirits at Creamfields 2018.

Yes of course have a boozy bevvy or two but always have a bottle of water to hand as you’ll be dancing so much you will definitely get thirsty. It’s a mighty long way to the bar when your favourite DJ is bring the house down.

New Stages

The screaming success of super structure Steel Yards has taken the mobile mega stage around the world bringing some of the biggest and best artists to huge audiences.

This year two new stages and an entirely new performance area will bring an entirely unique EDM festival experience to those attending Creamfields 2018.

SILO

SILO - Creamfields 2018

An entirely immersive dance music experience SILO surround its audience, enveloping them with sounds and sights that will vastly enhance the entire performance.

The 360 set up recreates the stages of old, mimicking ancient roman colosseums, the multiplatform structure will include moving light displays strobe effects and space for elevated viewing allowing guests to look down on the party below.

Generator

Generator - Creamfields 2018

Built entirely from industrial containers and scaffolding, the Generator arena has a distinct feel of an underground night club.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to impressing in the Generator stage as production teams have gone to town outfitting the arena with pyro displays, LED lighting and plenty of lazers for audiences to reach for.

Just like SILO there will be space in between the containers for people to get up above the crowds to appreciate the spectacle below from above.

Electric Oasis

A special gift for the people who will be camping at Creamfields 2018, Electric Oasis will be an entirely new venue removed from the main arena and nestled in the nearby woods.

Here campers can enjoy a different side to Creamfields including comfy chill out beds, live music, beauty shacks and an alfresco dining set up. All this as well as performances from comedians and circus performers will give campers something different to try at Creamfields 2018.
