As we bid farewell to Halloween and welcome the beginning of the run up to Christmas, we’ve compiled a list of the most unmissable November events in Liverpool.

From amazing firework displays, to magical Christmas wonderlands and some fantastic live music, this month is bursting with festive treats and Bonfire night bonanzas.

Jungle

When: Wednesday 1st November

Where: Invisible Wind Factory

Part of the amazing Liverpool Music Week line up, London neo-soul outfit Jungle are set to play the Invisible Wind Factory.

This hugely popular ensemble offer a stunning mix of modern soul and are famous for creating an unrivalled party atmosphere during their live performances.

Enjoying huge success all over the globe, Jungle are back and we can’t wait.

Harry Potter: A History of Magic

When: Throughout November

Where: Central Library

Have you ever dreamed of delving into divination, pondering the strange concoctions of potions and discovering some magical creatures?

This November, Liverpool Central Library are hosting an amazing Harry Potter-inspired exhibition perfect for muggles.

A unique exhibition that captures the traditions of folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter series, it will feature specially designed panels influenced by the Potter exhibition, showing images of rare books, manuscripts and magical objects featured in the British Library’s exhibition.

Plus, you will be able to view material from J.K Rowling and Bloomsbury’s own collections.

Little Mix

When: Wednesday 1st and Monday 20th November

Where: Liverpool Echo Arena

Carrying on with the best November events in Liverpool. Next up is one of the most hotly anticipated of the month.

One of British pop’s brightest acts, Little Mix are coming to Liverpool’s Echo Arena to play two shows.

Signature hits including ‘Move’, ‘Wings’ and ‘Black Magic’ have helped the Number One-selling girlband score over half a billion YouTube and Vevo views worldwide, alongside massive worldwide tours.

Growing better and bolder with each new album, they understand the brilliance of pop music and how it relates to their passionate and loyal fanbase.

Liverpool Music Week Closing Party

When: Saturday 4th November

Closing Liverpool Music Week this year are a brilliant collection of artists including Manchester quartet, Everything Everything.

Having just released their critically acclaimed fourth studio album, ‘A Fever Dream’, the Manc lads will be hoping to end Liverpool Music Week on a high.

They’ll play alongside 27 other artists across five carefully curated stages on the North Liverpool Docks.

Joining Everything Everything are Perfume Genius, AJ Tracey and Zola Jesus alongside some of the finest new and emerging acts in the region such as GIT Award 2017 winners She Drew The Gun and The Tea Street Band.

This year Liverpool’s Bonfire night celebrations are back on the waterfront for the second year running.

Organised by the UK’s most successful firework companies, Titanium fireworks, they will be hoping to draw thousands of people from the city and the Wirral as they light up the skies over the Mersey.

Accompanied by a soundtrack and fiery street animation from around 5pm along the Pierhead and The Strand, this year’s display is tipped to be bigger and more spectacular.

Warhorse

When: Sunday 5th November

Following 8 record-breaking years in London’s West End, the National Theatre’s acclaimed play Warhorse is coming to Liverpool this November.

At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France. He’s soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary journey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man’s land.

Based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness.

At its heart are astonishing life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.

Swing Sunday Lunch

When: Sunday 5th November

Where: 30 James Street

Set within the luxurious 30 James Street, this fabulous Sunday Lunch event is sure to be one of the most popular in November.

Have a Bonfire Night to remember with a delicious Sunday Lunch, bubbles, beers and a swinging good time with entertainment from a wonderful swing singer.

Tuck into your tasty food as you take in the historic surrounding of the magnificent White Star Grand Hall.

Baby Beatles Disco

When: Sunday 5th November

Where: Camp and Furnace

A fun filled day of boogying, arts and crafts, facepainting, fancy dress, multi-sensory dancefloor, inflatables, balloons, glow sticks, soft play, a bevvie (for the parents), and of course, loads of songs by The Beatles.

The Baby Beatles Disco has proved to be a huge hit with families across Liverpool and is back by popular demand!

So, get ready for a cracking Beatles themed disco; it’s the perfect entertainment for the little ones.

Christmas Light Switch On

When: Thursday 9th November

Where: Liverpool ONE

This year, Liverpool officially switches the twinkling fairy lights and 30 metre tree on at 6pm on Thursday 9th November. However, if you want to really make the most of the evening, get down there for 4pm to catch the amazing festive street performances, including storytelling, dancing, singing and lots of special effects.

During the show there will be exclusive appearances from Christmas panto stars and even Santa Claus himself is expected to stop by to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Shops, bars and restaurants will be open late so you can carry on the party, or get some Christmas shopping done, well into the night.

Chavasse Park will also have loads more Christmas food and drink stalls, plus children’s attractions and rides.

Radio City Christmas Live

When: Friday 10th November

Where: Liverpool Echo Arena

This year’s Radio City Christmas Live features a blockbuster line up of massive acts, making it one of the most exciting November events.

Coming to the Echo Arena, watch performances from Kesha, Paloma Faith, Clean Bandit, Ella Henderson, Ella Eyre, Louisa Johnson, Calum Scott and James Hype featuring Kelli-Leigh.

Tickets are selling fast so get in there quick!

FACE – Friends Against Cancer

When: Friday 10th November

Where: Camp and furnace

After the huge success of their last event, FACE is back in Camp and Furnace for a bigger and better party.

An old school rave against cancer, all proceed from the event are donated to The Bloom Appeal.

With a line up of Anton Powers, Tall Paul, DJ John Kelly and many more, it’s sure to be a party to remember.

Soul and Motown Weekend

When: Friday 10th – Saturday 11th November

Where: The Shankly

This month the Greenroom are putting on the ultimate Soul and Motown Weekend held at the luxurious Shankly Hotel in the heart of Liverpool.

With live performances from Kenny Thomas, Trevor Nelson, Odyssey, Jocelyn Brown, Heatwave and many more, this weekend is sure to be a massive hit.

There will also be DJs like Davy T, Bizzy B and D Fresh playing throughout the two days.

Pop up in the Palm House

When: Saturday 11th November

Where: The Palm House

A brand new concept, Pop-Up at the Palm House is the start of a new adventure into pop-up shops and stalls.

Creating a great event for artists, makers and designers from across the North to showcase and sell their works, this is one of the most unique November events.

This fair will provide shoppers with an opportunity to discover unique produce from artworks to jewellery, leather craft to organic preserves and everything in between,

You can also meet the makers and find out the story behind your purchase.

Mersey Boys Afternoon Tea

When: Sunday  12th November

Where: The Shankly

Due to popular demand, The Mersey boys Afternoon Tea is now held in the stunning rooftop Eden venue, set within The Shankly Hotel.

Join the boys for a fabulous Afternoon Tea, with songs from all your most loved Liverpool music legends.

Singalong to tracks from the last 70 years including Cilla Black, Billy Fury, The Beatles, Elvis Costello, The Zutons and The Real Thing to name a few.

Enjoy all of this brilliant music as you tuck into delicious finger sandwiches, sweet treats and miniature cakes.

Christmas Markets

When: Friday 17th November

Where: St George’s Plateau

Back for another year of fun and frivolity, Liverpool’s Christmas markets are returning to St George’s Plateau, outside St George’s Hall.

Featuring over 40 traditional festive style cabins, all decorated with yuletide garlands and frosty, magical lighting, the Christmas markets are always a fabulous treat.

Always buzzing with a warm and merry atmosphere, the markets will offer lucky shoppers a range of delicious German themed hot and cold drinks, tasty snacks and of course bratwurst and gourmet burgers.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without an abundance of craft stalls, selling handmade jewellery, festive decorations, trinkets and unique gifts.

Green Velvet

When: Friday 17th November

Where: Invisible Wind Factory

Chicago’s most unconventional house hero is back with an apocalypse-themed album, a mission to bring the dance floor out of darkness and some ominous prophecies about Hilary Clinton.

He’s officially coming to the amazing Invisible Wind Factory for a very heavy night of techno, don’t miss out!

Ice Festival

When: Friday 17th November

Where: Pierhead

The Liverpool Ice Festival returns to the Pierhead this year, bigger and better than ever before.

After the huge success of last year, the festival will feature a super-sized triple ice slide, a larger ice rink, a giant ferris wheel and 50 traditional German market stalls.

The high speed thirty metre ice slide will allow racers to skim along from six metres above the festival as the Three Graces and the Mersey whizz past.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy shopping at a new traditional Christmas market with 50 stalls, three German-style bars and a pop-up Bavarian food court serving up specialities including its famous German sausage cooked over hot coals.

There will also be an amazing Ice Bar, featuring a sub-zero room of crystal clear ice sculptures where even the bar, tables and chairs are carved from real ice.

It’s one of the best November events in the run up to Christmas in Liverpool.

Mac Demarco

When: Tuesday 21st November

Where: The Student Guild

Canadian singer-songwriter and everyone’s favourite ‘bum’, Mac DeMarco is coming to Liverpool to play the Liverpool Guild of Students.

Having just released his album This Old Dog, DeMarco has won fans over with his touching songwriting and enigmatic, humorous off stage personality.

This gig is one not to be missed in our list of November events.

The Little Mermaid

When: Saturday 25th November – Saturday 20th January

Where: The Everyman

This month The Everyman Playhouse is bringing the amazing rock n’ roll panto, The Little Mermaid, to Liverpool.

Among the cast will be notorious dame Francis Tucker and master of mischief Adam Keast, who will once again bring the audience to their feet to dance and cheer or avoid a soaking.

Featuring a live band, plenty of laughs and more than a few surprises, The Little Mermaid is the perfect festive treat.

Victorian Christmas at Speke Hall

When: Saturday 25th November – Sunday 10th December

Where: Speke Hall

Continuing with our November events, the glorious Speke Hall are putting on a Christmas wonderland that will transport you back to the Victorian times.

Visit the amazing hall, decorated for a traditional Victorian Christmas with fragrant, festive flora of handmade leylandii and juniper garlands.

Enjoy lots of fun family activities including Christmas trails and sugar mice making, listen to carols and say hello to Father Christmas.

There will be lots of seasonal treats to sample, tasters to tuck into and demonstrations, as well as roast chestnuts to enjoy.

Jake Bugg

When: Saturday 25th November

Where: Camp and Furnace

Returning to Liverpool for what is set to be an enchanting performance in the beautiful Philharmonic Hall, Jake Bugg is back with a new album and a new sound.

Still just 23 years old, he has now released four critically acclaimed albums and toured world wide.

His most recent album, Hearts That Strain, showcases his amazing song writing talent as he harks back to the country style music from his first smash hit album.

Foreverland comes to Liverpool

When: Saturday 25th November

Where: The Underground

The famous magical touring circus is coming to Liverpool for a psychedelic journey though music, time and space as you discover a new realm of the surreal.

Unleash your inner child as this amazing night taps into the vibrant, fun side of your personality.

Designed to deliver the crème of upcoming musical talent alongside a delicately infused sense of childhood nostalgia, this is one of the most hotly anticipating November events.

Rupaul’s Drag Race Quiz

When:  Monday 27th November

Where: Camp and Furnace

We’re coming to the end of our round up of the best November events with one spectacular finale.

Are you ready to test your charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent in an amazing quiz, themed around the hugely popular TV series RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Taking place in Camp and Furnace, this quiz aims to seek out the city’s ultimate Drag Race fan with a top cash prize of £100.

Teams of up to eight people are welcome to apply although be prepared,  one member of the team will be expected to lip sync to Britney Spears ‘ hit Toxic.

Start your engines, and may the best quizzer win!
