Ah, the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The first bank holiday since New Year’s is almost upon us, and heralds two weeks’ worth of school-free time for children across the UK – a fact that could induce moments of panic, over how to keep the kids amused, in even the most ardent parent.

Independent Liverpool Spring Food and Drink Festival

Independent Liverpool’s culinary events have become a popular mainstay within the city over the past few years. So it will come as no surprise to hear that the Spring Food and Drink Festival returns on Friday March 25th and Saturday March 26th.

The two-day food extravaganza is set to be held at the Great Baltic Warehouse on Greenland Street, and will offer a whole host of tasty dishes from some of Liverpool’s most-loved restaurants. Lucha Libre, Slim Pork Chop’s Express, Maray, HOST and many more will be on hand to stimulate taste buds and fill hungry mouths with a superb choice of food and drink.

Easter egg hunts, crafts and face painting will be on offer to keep the kids entertained, while the outdoor gin bar will provide a dose of alcohol and sunshine for adults and families alike.

Day tickets are priced at £6, with a weekend pass a reasonable £10 and kids under 14 are allowed free entry.

Doors open at 12pm on both days, so pop down to what is expected to be one of the more popular events of the weekend.

Easter Crafternoon at The Museum of Liverpool

If loud music and platefuls of food isn’t your deal, head on down to the Museum of Liverpool for an Easter crafternoon experience to remember!

Starting at 1:30pm, the two-hour Easter-themed event will provide a range of activities across a number of craft workshops including painting, egg decorating and much more.

Suitable for everyone aged three and over, this free event is sure to be fun for the whole family come rain or shine.

Snow White at the Epstein Theatre

Fancy a stop of pantomime this Easter? Then look no further than the Epstein Theatre’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves!

Starring Celebrity Big Brother winner James Hill, legendary scouse comedian Ricky Tomlinson and broadcaster Debi Jones, LHK Productions proudly presents this famous fairytale with its own fresh storytelling twist.

Tickets cost £17 for adults and £15 for concessions, with a family ticket also available at £56.

Performances will take place every day from now up until Wednesday April 6th, so grab a seat and enjoy an enthralling day out at one of Liverpool’s best venues.

Easter Egg Hunt at Speke Hall

Looking for an event outside of the city centre? Speke Hall’s Easter Egg Hunt might be right up your street.

Participants can hunt for clues to uncover the elusive Easter treats and, upon completing the trail, will be rewarded with a delicious Cadbury’s Egghead chocolate egg to savour.

Adults and children alike can also track down all the escaped chicks as they enjoy a stroll through the grounds of this historic building.

Tickets are priced at £2 for each child, with the trail starting in the Education Room of the Tudor house.

Peter Kay at the Echo Arena

The award-winning comedian Peter Kay is inviting people of all ages to get down and boogie at the Liverpool Echo Arena in aid of Cancer Research UK this Easter Saturday.

The Bolton-born comic plays host to his inaugural ‘Dance for Life’ fundraiser as he looks to raise as much money as possible.

The three hour dance-a-thon will see Kay transform the waterfront venue into an enormous dance floor with state of the art lights and sounds, and the stand-up comedian will even take a turn on the decks as DJ!

Tickets for the event cost £28 each, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

Willy Wonka’s Afternoon Tea at Liverpool Small Cinema

Liverpool’s Small Cinema is proud to present Willy Wonka’s Afternoon Tea this coming Easter Monday.

The Victoria Street-based picture house is set to screen Tim Burton’s 2005 adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Johnny Depp as the world renowned Roald Dahl character Willy Wonka.

A Chocolate Factory inspired afternoon tea will take place after the showing, with plenty of food and drink available to satisfy those hunger cravings.

Tickets cost £18, with the event due to take place between 1pm – 6pm.

Easter at the Albert Dock

There will be much to enjoy on Liverpool’s world famous waterfront across the Easter weekend, with the Albert Dock acting as the main hub for a number of activities.

On Good Friday visitors can check out the mini-farm in the Anchor Courtyard, complete with chicks, rabbits and ducklings, or take part in any of the Easter craft workshops, which will also be held on Saturday.

Easter Sunday and Easter Monday invites families to go on an Easter Egg Hunt around the dock, while chocolate-making and decorating workshops will also take place on Bank Holiday Monday.

Easter-inspired music, dance and entertainers will be on hand to wow and amaze patrons across the course of the weekend, so make sure you wander down to the docks to revel in some Easter fun!
