There’s an array of unmissable events in Liverpool this May, offering something perfect for everyone.

2000s Throwback Party

When: Wednesday 3rd May 2017

Where: 24 Kitchen Street

Relive the hits of your youth with a 2000s throwback party at 24 Kitchen Street.

Hosted by Liverpool Student Amnesty Society, you’ll be taken back to the years of cheesy pop and R’n’B to raise money for women’s charity MRANG.

Great tunes in one of the city’s top event venues – we can’t think of many better ways to spend a Wednesday!

May the Fourth Be With You Quiz

When: Thursday 4th May 2017

Where: The Merchant, Liverpool

Patsy Blair, resident quiz master at The Merchant will be playing host to a Star Wars quiz that’s out of this world.

The Merchant describes it as, “a chance to see if yoda smartest person Liverpool has ever seen whilst competing for some pretty epic prizes in the process”.

Set to be a night to remember, this certainly won’t be your average pub quiz; think impromptu lightsaber battles – maybe even a Chewbacca impression contest.

With a whole week in between, what better excuse for a Star Wars marathon this weekend?

Liverpool Disco Festival

When: Saturday 6th May 2016

Where: Baltic Triangle, Liverpool

Boogie all night long at Liverpool Disco Festival this May!

A fabulous celebration of 30 years of Southport Weekender, this is set to be a dynamic weekend start from Friday to Sunday.

Featuring Disco & House straight from Ibiza, Glitterbox will bring some sparkle to Camp and Furnace, while acts also include David Morales, Tony Humphries and Mr Scruff across a range of dazzling venues.

The main event kicks off on Saturday at 12 midday and finishes at 12 midnight – the fun won’t stop there however, as the disco will continue until 6:00am at Hangar 34 and Constellations.

Eurovision Final on Big Screen

When: Friday 5th May 2017

Where: Camp and Furnace, Liverpool

This May, you can get into true Eurovision spirit at Camp and Furnace!

Embrace the weird and wonderful world of Eurovision with the live final shown on a big screen for your enjoyment.

With live music from the one and only ABBASOLUTELY bound to get you on your feet, this is set to be a night to remember.

Not forgetting, you can indulge in a variety of food and drink to fuel your best dance moves!

Steam on the Dock

When: Saturday 6th May 2017

Where: The Albert Dock

Steam on the Dock is back this May and it’s expected to be bigger and better than ever!

Celebrating the machines that chugged through the industrial period, you can expect to see over 30 steam engines, boats and trains at Liverpool’s stunning Albert Dock.

The perfect family day out in Liverpool, bring the whole gang along to enjoy the best of steam trains, story times with The Fat Controller, shire horses, a marching band and even classic steam narrowboats.

Soup, Song & Standup at the Brink

When: Sunday 7th May

Where: The Brink, Liverpool

Don’t miss the wonderful Soup, Song & Standup this May at its new home The Brink.

Inviting Liverpool’s homeless friends and anyone else who wants to join, guests can enjoy live music, free food, hot drinks and a welcoming atmosphere without any judgement.

The evening will feature great entertainment from DJ Aaron Ellis while Dawn and the Embers will be bringing a touch of Acoustic Folk & Pop to the night.

Billy Elliot The Musical

When: 10th May – 27th May 2017

Where: The Empire Theatre Liverpool

Celebrating 11 years of success in London’s West End, Billy Elliot is finally pirouetting onto the Empire Theatre stage in Liverpool.

Harry Potter in Concert with Live Full Orchestra

When: Thursday 18th May 2017

Where: Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool

Find yourself transported into the Wizarding World for one special night at Liverpool Echo Arena.

LightNight Liverpool

When: Friday 19th May 2017

LightNight Liverpool will be illuminating the best of the city this May, with one dynamic night of arts and culture for your enjoyment.

Take on the challenge of a culture crawl as you explore over 100 special events!

Suitable for all ages, the fun will begin at 5:00 pm and continue until late.

GLOW Girl screening of Thelma & Louise

When: Tuesday 23rd May 2017

Where: Love Thy Neighbour, Liverpool

Come along to a fabulous screening of feminist classic Thelma & Louise!

Hosted by GLOW, the ticketed event welcomes everyone and anyone to get cosy at Love Thy Neighbour with popcorn on arrival.

Liverpool Sound City

This year is Sound City’s 10th birthday celebration, and they’re set to bring you an unmissable lineup of performers.

From The Kooks and White Lies to The Cribs and Cabbage, there’s no doubt this will be a jam-packed weekend of fun.

Get Into the Groove on 28th May at The Merchant with their showstopping Madonnathon!

Prepare to sing your heart out as you sip on tasty gin goblets, make the most of their outdoor garden and indulge in some Nightcrawler pizza.

Following the success of The Merchant’s recent ABBA night, this is one event in May that shouldn’t be missed.

So, probably time to start practising that Vogue rendition…
